If your toddlers are hard to please like mine are, these waffles are perfect to whip up in the morning! Not only are they healthy and homemade, but they’re super quick to make as well. After only about 20 minutes of prepping and cooking, my picky toddlers devoured a little over 2 waffles, EACH. They absolutely loved them!! You can even top with whipped or apple butter toppings to finish off this delicious breakfast.

I used to be one who never cooked. Like ever. I remember one time, I was in middle school and my parents asked me to heat up one of those frozen pizzas. (The kind from Walmart that’s got the plastic wrap around it). It was my favorite kind, loaded with cheese in the crust, so I couldn’t wait for it to finish. I got all the plastic wrap off, got the oven preheated, and popped it in.

…20 minutes later and the timers going off. I get the oven mit, open it up and take it out. After I grab the pizza cutter and begin cutting it, I realized something just wasn’t right. I couldn’t cut through.

I flip it over, and y’all.. I left the cardboard underneath the pizza. 🙄 Out of all the pizzas I could have ruined, it had to be cheese stuffed crust. A simple, throw in the over pizza turned out to be a disaster and our dinner was ruined that night. After that, I never really tried to cook much other than frozen foods or ramen noodles.

That was until I had my son. After he came, I realized it was time to start learning how to cook. I started with cheeseburgers. I would season them with a whole bunch of seasonings and cook them perfect, BBQ sauce under the cheese and the whole nine yards. If I was going to do it, I was going all out. Next was chicken breast’s and they turned out to be my favorite thing to cook. (Besides my homemade baked Mac n’ Cheese, but that’s a recipe for another time). I’m not even exaggerating when I tell you I made meals with chicken once a week, for at least a month straight. My love for cooking began there and since, I’ve learned to cook so many things and also how to alter each meal for my picky eaters to eat along with us!

Moral of the story, even if you’re the worst cook, all it takes is a little practice and you can make meals the whole family will love! This Waffle Recipe is so simple that any one can follow along.

*Tip: You can also make these with regular pancake/waffle mix and fold in the apples as well. (It just takes the fun out of making them, and even your kids can join in and help in the kitchen so they’re even more eager to eat their creations!)*
